The Utilisation of straw for Oysters Fungus
Oysters Fungus usually cultivated on sawdust media that has high value for fungus farmer. The cost of oysters fungus is not as high as production process. That was the reaason for Adi Yuwono to create new media to cultivate oysters fungus. Finally he found, it was straw that can be gotten easily around the rice farm and don’t be used yet.
On his research he found that straw can be media that has same harvest time if oysters is planted on sawdust and from 1,2 kgs of straw can harvested 275 grams of oysters fungus.
Here steps to create media from straw for oysters fungus:
- Put straw to the warm water in a drum.
- Rise it and wait till the water stop to dripping
- Share the straw became some part and each part is consist of 2 kg straws
- Add 300 g of bran and 40 g of lime
- Then package each part with plastic
- The media has could be used.
